Why do car markets put chrome near the dash, on a steering wheel or anyplace that can blind me?

Car Makers. Please stop putting chrome on the steering wheel. Thank you - my eyes. : mildlyinfuriating

I get blinded quite a bit when riding the motorcycle. The chrome piece on the tank reflects directly in my eyes.
